Rep Killa City

Last night was the Dutch Newman CD release party at the Beaumont Club in Westport. Dutch just dropped his debut LP, The Lonely Hearts Club, which you can cop for $5 on his Bandcamp. All the beats were produced by Lawrence, KS producer/MC Johnny Quest. The tracks are diverse, fresh, and uplifting. In a recent interview with Pitch.com Dutch said “Maybe it sounds corny, but it’s about the love. I want people to feel the love when I’m onstage — my passion for this shit”. It really shows both on the album and in his stage presence. Make sure to check out the banger, Yall Can't, a collaboration with Top City great, Stik Figa (peep his mini documentary down below).

The highlight of the show was when Irv Da Phenom came out and performed Red and Yellow, a remix of Wiz Khalifa's Black and Yellow, that features two other KC rappers, Cash Image and B Double E. The crowd was going nuts! Check the video for the local anthem below. It's a guided tour of Killa City's hot spots. Anyway, Irv Da Phenom has been promoting his newest album, Free. Coincidentally you can download that album, for free, here. The whole thing is fire, front to back, but make sure to check out the horn blasting beat on Gettin That.

Also, out there representing for KC and Dutch was the Well Fed Artist Society. They had a huge presence at the concert, showcasing some of their newest designs.
